It is the spring holidays now, and cherry blossom is a sign of spring in Japan. Our friend’s families and we visited one of the most famous cherry blossom spots in the northeast of Japan called Shiroishigawa Banks. Although we could see cherry blossoms almost everywhere in Japan, this was the first time we came to a famous cherry blossom spot to enjoy the tree flowering in full, and it was really amazing. Especially when the train passed by, the view was even more impressive!
We had a picnic by the river bank under the cherry blossoms. It was so enjoyable to sit right under the cherry trees and view the cherry blossoms fully blooming. However, the insects on the grass soon attracted the kids away from the view. Yes, kids love insects!

Flashcards -six names of insects. Two sets of flashcards.
Flashcard Set A – There are a picture, a Chinese word and Pinyin all on the front side of the card. Set A is used for learning, reading, and memorizing words.
Flashcard Set B – this set of flashcards is for double-sided printing (flip on the short edge). But you can also print the cards separately on a single side, this way you can let kids do a matching game – match the pictures with the Chinese words.
Worksheet activity 1 – Look at the picture, circle the correct word for each picture.
Worksheet activity 2 – draw a picture to show what each word means.
Worksheet activity 3 – Color and write Chinese characters.
