YCT1 Lesson 7: Whose dog is this?

Flashcards

The large-size flashcards are good for teachers or parents to present new words or sentences as they are easier to see and read.

The small-size flashcards are good for young learners to manage and hold.

Young learners can use flashcards to play games such as matching games and bingo games, etc.

Recommended Chinese Learning Materials

Chinese character jigsaw puzzle

Character jigsaw is a great fun and hands-on practice. My kids and students love it!

Each character worksheet includes two activities.

  1. Jigsaw – Cut out the scrambled character pieces on the first page with scissors and paste them together on the second page with glue to form a Chinese character. For small kids, parents need to cut out the pieces for their kids.
  2. Character writing – This activity requests handwriting skills and is for kids aged 5 and above.

Word coloring sheets

Chinese character coloring sheets allow learners to practice writing characters of the words in a fun way. Instead of writing only, coloring the characters with crayons or coloring pencils first and then following the character strokes to write them with pencils. They can also draw pictures at the bottom of the pages to make the worksheets more colorful.

Key sentence copying sheet

Copying sentences is a traditional way, though, a good way for reinforcing learners’ memory. It also helps enhance learners’ reading comprehension in the future along with the accumulation of their vocabulary.

Each sentence has Chinese characters, Pinyin, English translations, and traceable characters. It helps the learners better memorize the sentences.
