Chinese New Year is just around the corner! It is time to get some fun and hands-on activities for our students!
Embedding some bingo and board games into classroom (or even family) activities are fun, engaging, and effective ways for kids to learn a language no matter it is Chinese, English, or other languages.

How to use the Chinese New Year Activity cards
Bingo Games
Print out the cards and bingo template for each student;
Cut out the cards that you would like your students to practice with;
Hand out the bingo sheets (the templates) and the number of cards to each student;
Have students arrange and paste the cards on the bingo sheet in any order they like.
Game starts. As the teacher or parent calls out the word the learners will circle the corresponding grid.
The learner who has the cards in a straight line first wins the game.
Instead of pasting the cards on the bingo sheet, students can lay the cards on each grid, once a card is called out, students can turn over the card. Student who has the called out cards turn over in a straight line first wins the game. This way, the game can be played over and over again.

Board Games
Print out the cards and the board template;
Cut out Chinese New Year activity cards you would like your students to practice;
Paste each card on a grid on the template with double-sided adhesive tape or glue, then it’s ready to play. Students take turns to roll the dice and say the name of the corresponding image.

Print out the cards and the dice template;
Cut out six cards you would like your students to practice;
Glue and paste the six cards on the six sides of the dice;
Cut out the dice template, glue the edges;
It’s ready to play.
Students take turns to roll the dice;

Spinner Game
Print out the cards and the spinner wheel templates on A4. Make sure to set the printing scale to fit the printing area. Suggest printing it on cardstock for durable use.
Cut out the cards you would like your students to practice;
Cut out the spinner wheel and the arrow.
Glue and paste the cards on the spinner wheel;
Get a pencil and a paper clip. Tape or glue the arrow on the paper clip. (Or to make it easier, you can just simply use the paper clip without the arrow.)
