Looking for a fun and educational way to help kids practice Chinese numbers? Try our Free Chinese Number Maze: 6 (六)! This adorable worksheet features a cute panda searching for bamboo.
To reach the bamboo, children must follow the Chinese number 六 (liù) through the maze — a delightful mix of problem-solving and language learning!
🌟 Why Kids Love It
Kids are instantly drawn to the cute panda and bamboo design! As they trace the path through the maze, they stay focused and engaged without even realizing they’re practicing Chinese. It feels more like a game than a worksheet, making it a perfect activity for classrooms or at-home learning.
🎲 How to Use It
Introduce the number 六 (liù)
Start by writing 六 on the board. Say it aloud a few times and have students repeat it. Explain that it means “six.”
➤ Teach students how to write 六 in Chinese. Teachers or parents can also show the stroke order animation by using our stroke writing practice function, then have students write the character in the air while following the stroke order animation. This helps them remember the correct way to form the character.
Review numbers 6–10 in Chinese
Go over 六 (6), 七 (7), 八 (8), 九 (9), and 十 (10). Show each number and its pronunciation so students can recognize the differences before starting the maze.
Explain the activity
This fun Chinese Number Maze: 六 (6) features numbers ranging from 六 (6) to 十 (10) — all in Chinese! Kids must carefully follow the path of 六 (liù) to help the panda reach the bamboo. The other numbers act as obstacles, making the challenge more exciting and helping children practice recognizing multiple Chinese numbers at once.
Tell students the panda is hungry and needs to find the bamboo! Their job is to follow the path of 六 (liù) through the maze without getting lost among the other numbers.
Complete the maze
Hand out the worksheets and let students find the correct path. Encourage them to say “liù” each time they trace a 六 — this reinforces pronunciation and recognition.
Review together
Go over the worksheet as a class. Ask: “Which numbers did you see besides 六?” to review 七, 八, 九, and 十 again for extra practice.
💡 Why It’s Great for Learning Chinese
This simple but effective maze helps children visually recognize and remember the character 六 while strengthening their observation and fine motor skills. Helping the panda find the bamboo helps kids build long-term memory and keeps language learning enjoyable.
