How to Play

  1. Print the Game Board
    Each group needs one board, a die, and game pieces (or small tokens).
  2. Roll and Move
    Students take turns rolling the die and moving their piece along the board.
  3. Say the Word
    When a student lands on a square, they must say the image shown in Chinese.
  4. Snakes and Ladders Rule
    • If a student lands at the bottom of a ladder, they climb up.
    • If they land on the head of a snake, they slide down.
  5. Winning the Game
    The first student to reach the finish(goal) wins!

Ideas for Classroom & Home

  • Small Groups in Class: Perfect for centers or pair work.
  • Whole Class Competition: Teams compete against each other to practice vocabulary.
    • There is A4x2 version. The A4 x 2 version prints across two pages—just tape or glue them together for a bigger, more engaging board that’s easy for the whole class to see.
  • At Home: Parents can play with children to reinforce Chinese words outside class.
