How to Play
- Print the Game Board
Each group needs one board, a die, and game pieces (or small tokens). - Roll and Move
Students take turns rolling the die and moving their piece along the board. - Say the Word
When a student lands on a square, they must say the image shown in Chinese.- For beginners: just read the word.
- For advanced learners: use the word in a full sentence, for example I see …(In Chinese: 我看见wǒ kàn jiàn…..).
- Snakes and Ladders Rule
- If a student lands at the bottom of a ladder, they climb up.
- If they land on the head of a snake, they slide down.
- Winning the Game
The first student to reach the finish(goal) wins!
Ideas for Classroom & Home
- Small Groups in Class: Perfect for centers or pair work.
- Whole Class Competition: Teams compete against each other to practice vocabulary.
- There is A4x2 version. The A4 x 2 version prints across two pages—just tape or glue them together for a bigger, more engaging board that’s easy for the whole class to see.
- At Home: Parents can play with children to reinforce Chinese words outside class.
