Free Thanksgiving Color-by-Numbers Worksheet | Chinese Colors Learning Activity

Add a splash of seasonal fun to your lessons with our free Thanksgiving Color-by-Numbers worksheet!

This engaging printable blends creativity, number recognition, and beginner Chinese vocabulary—perfect for young learners at home or in the classroom.

This activity uses four colors:

  • Orange 橙色 (chéng sè)
  • Brown 棕色 (zōng sè)
  • Black 黑色 (hēi sè)
  • Green 绿色 (lǜ sè)

Each color is assigned a number from 1 to 4, and students simply color the image according to the matching number. It’s a simple, relaxing, and educational task for the Thanksgiving season.

Kids will color festive images such as a pilgrim hat, pumpkin, acorn, and other holiday icons while naturally reinforcing number recognition and building familiarity with Chinese color vocabulary and pinyin.

How to Use the Worksheet

  1. Introduce the Colors
Review the four colors with students. Say the Chinese words and Pinyin together and show the color examples.
  2. Explain the Number-to-Color Key
Tell students that 1–4 each represent a color, and they will use this key to complete the picture.
  3. Color According to the Numbers
Give students crayons, markers, or colored pencils and let them color each section based on the numbers shown.
  4. Review the Colors After Finishing
Ask students to point to something they colored and say the color in Chinese. This reinforces memory and adds a quick speaking practice.
  5. Display or Send Home
Completed sheets make cheerful Thanksgiving wall displays—or meaningful mini keepsakes for families.
