Flashcards

Flashcards are great for learning Chinese vocabulary. Kids can use flashcards to learn and review Chinese words, they can also use the flashcards to do games.

There are two versions of the spring flashcards. The single-sided version and the double-sided version.

Flashcard Set A

The single-sided version has a picture, Chinese characters, and Pinyin (for spelling out the sound in Chinese) all on one side. Kids can look at the picture and read the word by looking at the Pinyin, and trying to memorize how to say the word in Chinese.

Flashcard Set B

For double-sided flashcards, there are also two sets. When printing the flashcards double-sided, bear in mind that select double-sided printing and flip on the long edge.

Set B-1: The front side has a picture with English, and the back side has Chinese characters with Pinyin, and English.

Print the cards out with double-sided printing. Show kids the picture side to let them tell how to say the word in Chinese.  After the kids say the word in Chinese, check the answer by flipping the card to look at the backside.

Set B-2: The front side has English, and the back side has Chinese characters with Pinyin.

Print the cards out with double-sided printing. Show kids the side with English to let them tell how to say the word in Chinese.

Or show kids the side with Chinese to let them tell the meaning in English. After kids say the word, check the answer by flipping the card to look at the other side.

Another way to print flashcard set B-1 is by single-sided printing. This way, you can let kids to a matching game. Let them try to match English with the Chinese.
