Free Summer Coloring Minibook

Kids love coloring! Why not have them make their own little coloring Chinese illustration book in the beautiful summer?

On this page, you can find a set of eight pages (sixteen items) of coloring sheets for the summer topic. Kids will learn sixteen names of summer items in Chinese along with their coloring activity. And after coloring all the items with their crayon or colored pencils, cut each page along the solid line in the middle with scissors and staple them together using a stapler to make a minibook.

Summer items

There are sixteen summer items that all have Chinese characters and Pinyin.

The sixteen summer items are:

summer: 夏天 xià tiān
watermelon: 西瓜 xī guā
coconut: 椰子 yē zǐ
pineapple: 菠萝 bō luó
juice: 果汁 guǒ zhī
ice-cream: 冰激凌 bīng jī líng
hat: 帽子 mào zǐ
sandals: 凉鞋 liáng xié
swimming suit: 游泳衣 yóu yǒng yī
sunglasses: 墨镜 mò jìng
beach ball: 沙滩球 shā tān qiú
beach: 海滩 hǎi tān
sea star: 海星 hǎi xīng
conch: 海螺 hǎi luó
swim ring: 游泳圈 yóu yǒng quān
sunshade: 遮阳伞 zhē yáng sǎn

Instructions:

1. Print the 8 coloring pages with a printer.
2. Color each item with crayons or colored pencils.
3. Fold each page along the solid line.
4. Cut each page along the solid line in the middle with scissors.
5. Staple all the pages together with the “summer” word page on top using a stapler to make a minibook.

Of course, it is not the only way to do it. If you like, you can also make the minibook first, then have the kids color the items. That’s also enjoyable.
