Free Mid-Autumn Festival Coloring Pages for Kids

  • Festive – Lovely Mid-Autumn designs and elements.
  • No-prep – simply print and color it!

How to Use

👩‍🏫 In the Classroom

  • Start with a short introduction about why the Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated.
  • Use the coloring pages to introduce symbols and vocabulary.
  • Explain the meaning of 八月十五, linking it to the lunar calendar.
    • 八月十五 (bā yuè shíwǔ) refers to the 15th day of the 8th month in the Chinese lunar calendar. This date is significant because it marks the Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋节 Zhōngqiū Jié), one of the most important traditional holidays in Chinese culture. On this day, the moon is believed to be at its brightest and fullest, symbolizing reunion and harmony. Families gather to share mooncakes, appreciate the full moon, and tell legends such as the story of Chang’e and the Jade Rabbit.

🏠 At Home

  • Print and enjoy together as a family activity.
  • Use the pages while telling the legend of the Jade Rabbit or tasting mooncakes.
  • Display the finished coloring pages during the festival as decorations.
